Company Background
This operator runs operations in Western Australia, where bird deterrence systems at evaporation ponds must remain reliable through cyclone season.
Confidentiality Note
The client asked us to remove all identifying details from this case study. This is common in industrial operations, where supplier choices and field-proven methods can be commercially sensitive. When something works well, it is understandable that organizations want to keep the advantage to themselves.
The Challenge
The site needed bird deterrence lines that could remain installed through cyclone season and stay serviceable after extreme wind events.
The Solution
Rise Tape was installed as tensioned bird deterrence lines at the evaporation pond, anchored for field conditions.
Results
The client reported that a Category 2/3 cyclone arrived soon after installation.
So as fate would have it we experienced a Category 2/3 cyclone over the weekend…
Measured winds from the official station were extreme.
Recorded sustained average winds of over 80 km/hr with gusts (10 second average) of up to 122km/hr.
They also reported strong overall performance.
Rise Tape held up well. All in all great performance.
Summary
Client feedback confirms Rise Tape remained serviceable as a bird deterrence line system through cyclone conditions in Western Australia, with limited line losses linked to identifiable, correctable abrasion paths at installation points.
